FAQ

To rent a vehicle from driveXplore Rent-a-Car you must meet the following requirements: you must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license valid for at least one year.

To sign the rental contract, you will need your driving license and original identity card.

Booking

You can make a reservation via the online booking application, by email at [email protected] or by phone on +40 755 761 608.

The request must include the vehicle class, the rental period, the pick-up and drop-off location and the name of the customer.

A driveXplore Rent-a-Car agent will lock the vehicle for the requested period only after the deposit has been paid.

If you agree with our offer, you must confirm it within 24h.

In addition, in order to have a definite reservation we require a 20% deposit.

Rental

On the date, time and location agreed in the reservation, the vehicle will be delivered (cleaned inside/outside and filled up).

On delivery, you will sign the rental contract, fill in the vehicle handover form and make the payment.

If a problem arises, you can call us anytime, we’re at your service 24/7.

At the date, time and location agreed, the vehicle will be returned in the same condition as it was received (cleaned inside/outside and filled up).

The end of the tenancy is recorded on the handover-receipt sheet, the guarantee will be returned and the invoice (if requested) will be issued.

Other questions

For travel within Romania, there is no kilometer limit.

The rented vehicle may be driven by the contract holder and a maximum of three additional drivers specified in the contract.

There is an additional charge of €15 per driver for each additional driver, the first one being free.

The vehicle will be delivered with a full tank and you are obliged to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel.

If you hold documents issued in countries with a different Latin script or for those obtained by right-hand drive (e.g. UK, India, Australia, Japan, Australia, etc.), you must have an international driving license.

A representative from driveXplore Rent-a-Car will meet you at the airport to pick up your rental car.

The rental contract is signed on delivery, after which you can collect the car immediately. In the case of a first rental, you must have with you copies of your identity card and driving license. There is an additional charge of €20/ride for the airport transfer.

If the return of the vehicle is after the deadline specified in the contract, the customer will be subject to an additional charge of €3/hour, according to the tariff specified in the contract.

If you wish to extend the rental period, you must contact our representatives at least 24 hours before the expiry date.

If the car is available, an additional extension agreement will be signed and the new rental period will be paid.

For the duration of your rental, driveXplore representatives are at your disposal. If problems arise, the first step is to contact us immediately. Contact details are available on the car rental contract. Our representatives will assist you.

In the event of a technical breakdown, you can receive round-the-clock roadside assistance and, if necessary, you will receive another car. In the event of an accident, the customer must obtain and provide driveXplore Rent-a-Car with copies of the documents of the persons involved (insurance policy, identity card, driving license, registration certificate), police report or amicable settlement. If the participants are foreigners, an on-the-spot investigation will have to be carried out and the police report attached.

In order to ensure effective cooperation and guarantee safety, it is important to emphasize that it is currently not allowed to leave the territory of Romania with a rented car.
